First, there is no easy direct route to the platforms. There are only 6 platforms but the connections of them is so poor. there is no direct connection from upstairs to platform 1 and 6. you have to turn 180 degree to reach them.

In November 2009 they put a 30 km/h speed restriction on trains approaching the bridge as a mitigation, it was removed in March/April 2010. I suspect some kind of tint or paint was applied to the relevant bits of the bridge to reduce the amount of light reflected.

The “Fair-go for Footscray Rail Residents” coined the term back in 2010 after the new bridge opened but leaked like a sieve.

Train drivers complained that its shiny metal reflected the sun into their eyes at certain times, momentarily blinding them.

I don’t recall what was done about that, if anything.
