it didn’t help that the initial Myki message was ‘swipe on / swipe off’ – you see the occasional references to it in official publications from a few years back:

It is not uncommon for them to work late at night and on weekends. There were lots of discussions about what to replace the “touch on, touch off” with as it wasn’t working at the time.
