More bitching – in a way…
Caught the 7:42 train up to Melbourne. It sat outside Spencer Street for over five minutes as it waited for a path, so it could cross over to the station. At the moment SSS has heaps of platforms closed, so not as many trains to fit, and so we had to wait.
As I was sitting there I realised, instead of all the stuffing around at SSS, I could get off the train at North Melbourne, change to a Northern loop train to Flagstaff Station, where the Burnley loop trains to uni are right across the platform. A bit too late now… [I did this today and it worked fine]
To add insult to injury, the conductor announced that this train will ALSO be replaced with a bus, from August 1. Bloody annoying it is.
And to make things even more worse, the train pulled into platform 5/6, the only platform that does not have access to the Bourke Street footbridge. As a result, I had to walk one block down to Collins Street and exit the station, half a block along to another entrance, and another half a block to the train itself. And THEN after I caught that train, I had to change at Flinders Street to another one…
However at Flinders Street my luck changed, as the next train to Glenferrie was running express FSS – Richmond – Glenferrie. Only one stop! Woo Hoo!
On the way home, I missed the 3:17 to South Geelong by a few minutes, so I had to wait to the 4:07 instead. (some bureaucrat at V/Line properly thinks that an hourly train to Geelong off-peak is considered an "adequate service")
So when I got to Geelong I had to eat dinner quickly, before I went to work. Work wasn’t bad, if you move all the big bulky things first, it looks like you have done more work than you actually have…
stop complaining fool!
