A game of spot the difference – this time outside Footscray.
Can you spot it?
The biggest change is the number of tracks – the first photo from 2012 shows the four track alignment in place since 1976, the second photo from 2014 shows the six track corridor following the completion of Regional Rail Link, which provided an extra pair of tracks for V/Line trains between Southern Cross and Sunshine.
The other is the State Trustees building in the background – the 14-storey building located at 1 McNab Avenue includes 18,000 square metres of office space, and was completed in 2014.
And one more thing: the long 60s-vintage concrete retaining wall facing along the track has been removed?
Spot on – the crib walls were removed when they widened the cutting.
